What is Not Forgotten?
Not forgotten was set up to support young people aged 16-25, predominantly care leavers, who find themselves moving into their own accommodation.
We currently work with 4 main organisations in Liverpool and Knowsley. These professional bodies are involved with supporting a young person transitioning into their home and we recieve a referral for a starter pack.
The starter pack consists of essentials such as bedding, kitchen items, towels all of which are in new condition, and of course some sweets and chocolate! The feedback which we have received has been really positive from both professionals and young people who have receieved the packs.
Although the hope is clearly to meet a practical need by providing these packages, the real hope is that through them the young person will realise how much they are loved by God and that he will never forget them.
Isaiah 44 v 21 in The New Living Translation says:
"I the Lord made you and I will not forget you."
That is our prayer - that as these packs go into the homes of young people they will know the love of their heavenly father and that whatever life throws at them, He has not and will never forget them.
